Hello,
My GF was wondering if there was any list serves about blind people finding jobs? And which sites are good ones to find jobs on? Thanks.

Do you mean websites that have job listings? Or is she looking for a job in helping the blind?

If it's job listings I recommend you google around. Monster.com seems like a good place to start. However be advised that if you search on the net for a job, listings might not be updated. It took my dad a year to get a job. My advice for you is to have your local BVS person help you. Or have them help find her a recruiter as recruiters are much faster. Me on the other hand both jobs that I did volunteer work were based on luck. The internet is a big place and it's not easy looking for a job online.

Does this help?

I did a google search for "e-mail lists for blind" and found a list of e-mail listservs for blind people. I'm not looking for a job so didn't pay attention to all the categories, but she might find a list this way.

If it's founded by the blind my suggestion is contact your local BVS person and state you're in need to find a job that deals with blind people. For me I had to do the research on my own and it wasn't easy. GOogle Local is a great way to find a job. In fact thats where I found mine.

Google Local Just do what you normally do in google advance. Just type in blindness in the field and I'm sure something will pop up. For me I had to go beyond working with blind/vi people because of the jobs. I ended up going above and beyond by working with folks who have developmental disabilities and I enjoyed my work experience. Just give Google Local a chance.

what kind of work would you like to do? that's the first question you need to answer and probably the hardest.
After you figure that out, find someone that is successful in the field and ask them how to go about getting started. learn all you can about the field as well.
a good book you might want to look at is Ask The Headhunter by Nick Corcollidos. You can find it on www.bookshare.org.
